Nomura's Global Markets Division handles client transactions for financial institutions, corporates, governments and investment funds around the world. We act as market makers, trading in fixed income and equity securities, including currencies, interest rates, securitised products and credit in cash, derivatives and structured products. Nomura seeks to recruit an entry level analyst professional through the graduate program to work on the firm's Emerging Markets FX team. This team is positioned at the forefront of servicing our clients with their FX needs by providing competitive liquidity in linear products (FX spot, FX Forward, FX Swap, NDF) across the Emerging market space with especially strong presence in Asian markets.
The successful candidate will work alongside the senior team members to get experience of all areas within the team and take over early responsibilities. The analyst will be responsible for the funding needs of the desk which involve actively executing short term FX swaps in order to hedge the firm's cash balances. The analyst will also act as a market maker in Emerging market currencies which involves providing competitive liquidity to clients, risk management of positions, updating clients/stakeholders with market colour and trade ideas.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- Excellent analytical skills
- Able to perform in fast pacing environment
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Academic qualification in a quantitative or economics-related subject
- Past experience in trading is a plus but not required
